TheraSuit Therapy

There are an increasing number of scientific researches and evidences that Therasuit Therapy can effectively improve and change proprioception (pressure from the joints, ligaments and muscles). It can also reduce the patient’s pathological reflexes, restores physiological muscle synergies (proper patterns of movement.

This therapy involves loading the entire body of the child with the appropriate amount of weights thus strengthening the child’s motor abilities. It consists of a cap, a vest, shorts, knee pads and a specialized shoes which are all connected to each other by an elastic rubber bands. We can control the intensity and placements of these bands depending on the child’s limitations. TheraSuit comes in several sizes to fit all age groups and body types.

This requires a child to wear the suit for an hour on a daily basis or if the condition of the child does not warrant the duration and frequency, it will then be based accordingly to the initial examination conducted. The skill in using this tool is essential to get the most desired effects.

TheraSuit facilitates the development of new gross and fine motor skills like sitting, standing, walking. It is considered safe and does not have any unwanted side effects. This is the integral part of the Intensive Therapy Treatment.
